◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? No, and no; however, he is capable of being programmed with information, which I'd invite the moderators to take advantage of, if you so please. /o/

◎ Personality:

To those that don't know him, Clear would come across as an entirely questionable individual. Aside from his peculiar habit of wearing a gas mask wherever he goes, there's no doubt that he's excitable, spontaneous, and even a bit whiny. It isn't uncommon for him to take the bizarre, or even most extreme route to getting something done, although his methods are no doubt effective; thusly, his greatest talent seems to be bordering the line between endearing and entirely frustrating.

A great deal of his behavior stems from having lived a sheltered life, painstakingly stowed away from the rest of the world. The man that he called "Grandfather" made a home for them where most would not think to look; isolated within one of the illegal dump sites in the North District of Midorijima. He implored Clear to always keep his face hidden, even from himself, because he is different from everyone else. It is for that reason that Clear had always worn his gas mask, never even allowing himself to see his own face.

Obedient by nature, Clear trusted his grandfather's intentions wholeheartedly, and adhered to every word. As he'd been instructed to do, he even buried his grandfather after he'd passed, and returned to their home to "sleep" indefinitely. It was only due to hearing Aoba's voice (capable of Scrap, the ability his original master Toue had artificially implanted in his vocal chords, thus causing Clear to confuse him for 'his Master') that he awoke and ventured out into the world on his own at all.

Unfortunately, though providing safety, his grandfather's actions also developmentally crippled him. Naturally, having had only the elderly researcher to interact with and learn from all that time, his social skills were severely lacking. Almost like a child, he speaks in a incredibly whimsical way, often neglecting to provide context (likely from being used to having only one conversational partner all his life) - or, sometimes, focuses on figures of speech that most would find common sense, exclaiming that he's learned something from it. Ordinary social cues are entirely lost on him, unable to see the problem in entering a stranger's house from the veranda, or quite suddenly opening his umbrella in the midst of someone speaking to him.

Most are led to believe that he works in riddles, or is perhaps even mocking them, when he truly be any more genuine or well-meaning. Although ignorant in most basic etiquette, he utilizes what manners he does know to the best of his ability. When it comes to addressing others, he will almost always do so using respectful honorifics, regardless of their age or status. His manner of speaking could be considered slightly formal, as well; polite, if not subservient. Such is part of his programming, as he was intended to serve, but it was likely encouraged during his upbringing, as well.

Additionally, he verbosely protests any cruel behavior and violence. Considering that he was a unit not only intended to brainwash the masses, but battle on Toue's behalf, if necessary, Clear shouldn't have any issues with the concept, in theory; yet, it seems that through his grandfather's guidance, he formed his own strong opinions on the subject. He simply will not tolerate abuse, be it mental or physical, unless it is absolutely necessary, such as a life-threatening situation, or may threaten the well-being of someone dear to him.

The time spent with his grandfather did well to mold Clear into a goodhearted individual, though there were glaring faults to his methods. Most notable of all would be his anxiety regarding his face. Not allowed the reason for why he should keep himself hidden behind a mask, he had come to fear the truth - fear that he looked different from everyone else, that he must be repulsive, and might scare away anyone who saw him for what he truly was. Even once he was coaxed to show his face to Aoba, and assured that he had a normal (even handsome) face, he still retains some sense of that insecurity, and has been shown to wear his gas mask when he feels apprehensive. It's an obstacle that he is still working to overcome.

Much of his development is owed to Aoba, and his admiration for the man is indisputable. Though he was drawn to him from the start because of his scrap abilities, it was by familiarizing himself with the other as an individual, rather than a 'master' that he truly came to love him. He would speak with Clear openly and honestly, not only helping to satiate his curiosity, but also speaking with him as an individual, and an equal. Overall, he's become one of the most important people in his life, of which he is fiercely loyal to, and would go to any means necessary to protect.

Clear tends to put the needs of the ones he cherishes first, making their happiness his own. It brings him joy to be able to care for them, whether it means to cook them a meal, or sing them a gentle lullaby if they're feeling unwell; he will do what he can just to make them smile. Setting aside his personal beliefs, he will resort to using his fists against a foe, if it means protecting them. Even if it means sacrificing himself, he will do anything he can to ensure their well being.

However loyal and subservient he may be, that should not be confused for a loss of self, however; he is emphatically independent, and maintains a strong need to be seen as more than an android - something manufactured, a mere possession. He wants to be human, and for him, that means having his own will, and making decisions based upon it. Though he prefers to keep those he's close to happy, it may mean going against their wishes, instead doing what his heart tells him is right, and it's deeply important to him that him that they may understand and respect that.

Of all these qualities, it seems that is how he came to earn his name. Not because he had spent so much of his life camouflaged from the rest of the world, but for his sheer honestly. As Aoba had described, he has a "clear heart", pure and transparent to the world around him.


◎ Powers/Abilities:

• Dye Music - Built to serve Toue, one of his primary purposes was to brainwash humans to submit to his will by the way of singing, thus "dyeing" their minds. While living with the man that Clear called his grandfather, however, he had invented his own tune that he'd named the Jellyfish Song; rather than manipulate others, it is shown to clear the mind and ease stress, as well as counteract the effects of original Dye Music. His grandfather additionally programmed him to be capable of singing at a frequency capable of disabling and shutting down α units.
• Hypersensitive Hearing - Clear has been shown to hear Aoba's voice from a great distance away, as well as slight movement within enclosed spaces not near to him, and the sound of footsteps on his trail.
• Incredible Strength - As an android with a metal skeletal structure, and built for combat should the need arise, he harnesses amazing strength, durability, and agility. Most notable is the ability to leap tremendous heights, of which he is fond of using for rooftop travel.
• Reparation - Although his body is artificial, it is capable of self-reparation, assuming that it has been reactivated.
